Heini am Stau in Oldenburg

Unfortunately that was nothing. The expensive dishes try to pretend class, but then through e.g. Antipasti cannot be kept from the glass. Includes two thin slices of baguette bread. If you just want another slice of bread, you have to order the bread basket for 4.90. Sorry? Two points for the fact that you can at least be more than full with the large pasta plate. But should also be for over 20 euros (for pasta!).

Formerly "Anna Hunte" with a similarly ambitious menu. But easier, or shall we say more accessible. Recommended cuisine across the board! The highlight, however, is the location, which is hard to beat at the Oldenburg harbor. In summer on the outside terrace, right on the water with a view of the old harbor cranes. Great lounge for small group celebrations. Shouldn't be missed in Oldenburg.

We reserved a table there for a wedding anniversary with 6 people at the beginning of September. The Heini am Stau team had set up the table very nicely with rose petals and small roses. We liked that very much and thank you very much for it. The food was delicious and came very quickly, the portions were very large and the service was first class. I found the good knowledge of the wine list of our always friendly and courteous service remarkable. The ambience is beautifully maritime in keeping with the port and gives the impression of sitting in an old warehouse. I can guarantee a reunion!

The armchairs are extremely comfortable and I find the distance between the tables extremely adequate. There you don't get the feeling of dining out like fish in a can. I think the selection is wide and everything I've been served before me has tasted absolutely fantastic. I can only recommend the restaurant! Not only the nice one The staff was the absolute hit during our visit, but also the good climate.

Had lunch there with over a dozen guests on the occasion of our wedding ceremony. In advance we had clarified starters, due to the number of guests for the main courses a la carte was no problem at all. A service employee was solely responsible for us. Together with the colleague they quickly got up and covered and asked questions. Perfect service. The winter garden was completely available to us, so that you could also go out onto the terrace without disturbing other guests. Food was tip-top, choice of drinks left nothing to be desired. Since it was windy, it was decided to cover up inside. However, it had been clarified in advance that it would be no problem to stock up outside if the weather was appropriate, even spontaneously. Dessert or cake were available. We enjoyed it very much and all guests felt very comfortable. Thank you for the food, service and ambience. The next table is already reserved ...

It is a very nice location. Everyone here is very friendly and if I didn't live in NRW I would come by more often. Definitely on your next visit to Oldenburg. ?

We had breakfast a few weeks ago and felt super comfortable despite the current corona restrictions! Breakfast is currently brought to the tables, service was great! We will definitely be back (and will also try the beer menu)! Keep it up :-)

The seating is extremely comfortable and I think the distance between the seats is very adequate. There you don't get the feeling of dining like sardines in a can at the back and front. Not only was the nice local staff the total hit when I visited, but also the great climate I can really recommend the restaurant!

Did not have to wait long to be seated, was delighted by how fresh and clean everything was. The staff were definitely immaculately dressed and it was very clear they understood their job very well. The food here's often tasty, my sis and I cannot get enough, will likely be coming back next week. If you want scrumptious food that wont break your budget, this place is great for a special supper without the big bill by the end. Was not pretty sure what to be expecting but food here was superb, plenty to select from and very good service too.

Great restaurant! For breakfast brunch we come extra from Schwanewede. Great selection, very nice prepared and filled up quickly. The service always had a very good overview and friendliness was not to top. The places outside the water are very nice. Only the color of the river could be more beautiful ... but that's the only point of criticism

We were here for the first time after it got the new name. I am very positive about the funny menu cards. Especially the beer recommendations to the courts. Beer training is also possible with groups of 10 or more. The food tasted very good and the ox cheeks were perfectly braised. The interior is very tasteful and look funny. The view from the window goes directly to the Hunte and every now and then a ship drives by.

Nice setting and food. Outside offers nice seating and a cool wooden play area for the kids, which is super. Service can be a bit slow.

Really empty around lunchtime, which isn't a surprise considering its location, but the manager(s) were just walking around adjusting things and pretending to work, maybe they could go out and advertise this place a bit to be a bit more productive! The deco was quirky, service was good, place looked clean and the onion soup tasted nice too, however the food was just too overpriced for what it was and the atmosphere was quite sad depressing with how empty it was.

‘Heini am Stau’ is located on a former industrial site in Oldenburg’s harbour, near the rolling bascule railway bridge. The restaurant and terrace offer views over the Hunte river and one of Lower Saxony’s busiest river ports. However, the area is rapidly turning residential and upmarket. ‘Heini am Stau’ replaces the former upmarket eco / slow-food restaurant ‘Anna Hunte’, which operated at this site from 2011 to 2016 and is much missed. Service On Thursday lunch, the two young waiters who attended us were polite, though at times a bit slow and confused. Food ‘Heini am Stau’ scores with a large range of ales and beers, where ‘Anna Hunte’ used to attract custom through fresh, organic produce. The food is tasty but unexciting and not much different from the usual offering in Oldenburg. Coffee Unfortunately ‘Heini am Stau’ uses UHT milk for their Caffè Latte, which is in line with the restaurant’s food and for which I subtract a point. Ambiente The modern interiors, large windows and views over the river make visits to this restaurant special. The place looks clean, modern and well maintained. Price performance: ok Prices at Oldenburg’s restaurants tend to be fairly reasonable and so they are at ‘Heini am Stau’. I may return to its terrace on a warm summer evening.
